MechJock.Com is taking 12 of its Virtual World Entertainment Tesla II BattleTech: Firestorm cockpits to GenCon Indy in Indianapolis, Indiana Aug 16th through the 19th.

Nickolas “PropWash” Smith, President of Virtual World, had this to say about the appearance.”Gen Con continues to be the premier annual gaming event in the MidWest, and we are again thrilled be invited back for our fourth consecutive appearance.” He added, “Gen Con 2011 went so well, we are increasing our deployment back up to 12 cockpits.”

The Tesla II cockpits, featuring the BattleTech: Firestorm software, are fully enclosed military style simulators that feature 7 screens, over 90 control systems, and a 12 speaker surround sound system. When seated in the cockpit or ‘pod’, the player will pilot his or her own walking tank known as a BattleMech onto the virtual landscape to compete for battlefield superiority with those seated in surrounding cockpits.

This is the 3rd major convention appearance for the Kalamazoo operation this season, following successful deployments at the Origins Game Fair in Columbus, Ohio and Anime Central in Chicago, IL. MechJock is returning to downtown Chicago Aug 30th through Sep 3rd with 6 cockpits for the ChiCon Science Fiction convention to be hosted at the downtown Hyatt Regency hotel and convention center.
