GrandDM pointed out Issue #22 had Light Machine Guns, so here they are.  I assume the cost for the Nachtgewitter is a misprint and will be reporting that as errata (I assume it's supposed to be 1,200, not 120).  For comparison, the bog-standard Light Machine Gun is 5/3 with burst 15 (so it doesn't qualify for the Heavy Burst special), 0.49 TW damage, 400 cost and 7 kg.  The Support MG is 5/5 with burst 20 and weighs 44 kg (crew 2)!  A good third of these also have 3/6/9 range, while only one has the standard 1/2/3.

Comparing HCK M-2MG with the LMG, the HCK has 50% more range and does 17% more damage with a 30% price discount and 1/49th the weight.

Indeed... I can only wonder where this is going...

Yeah, custom infantry can move 5x-25x faster and easily deal ~10x the damage at 2x-7x the range when compared with TW infantry.  Overall, the skew between design, canon, and common sense is looking rather extreme here.

Good stuff. Thank you as always for doing these conversions.
Big ideas and gaming outside the box. #Gametavern proprietor. Plus Ultra.

You're more than welcome!  I see it as part of my campaign to keep AToW connected to the main game.

We are well overdue for a new edition of ATOW that cleans up all the weapon stuff.

Has shrapnel now covered everything?  Or is there a few more weapon classes before they are 'complete' and ready to fix the main book?

Daryk

I'm not sure... I may have missed an article or two between Lasers in Issue 9 and LMGs in Issue 22...  Craig would know for sure! :)

They actually don't have assault rifles covered, laser rifles and sub-machine guns yes; but not ballistic assault rifles or personal gauss weaponry.

I would also like a new look at Gyrojets and we still need crewed support weapons with updated stats.

Is that the goal? They aren't just adding ATOW equipment like BattleTechnology used to do for MechWarrior?
Epitaph on an Army of Mercenaries

These, in the day when heaven was falling,      Their shoulders held the sky suspended;
The hour when earth's foundations fled,         They stood, and earth's foundations stay;
Followed their mercenary calling,               What God abandoned, these defended,
And took their wages, and are dead.             And saved the sum of things for pay.
